My team at MMD Construction has developed a process for working with clients who live out of the area, or even out of the country, which takes full advantage of the latest technology. We use a new program that allows clients to log in and track progress on their project, see our notes, share photos, review bills, and even make payments through the program. It’s been a great asset, as about one-quarter of our clients are either residing out of the state or out of the country.
I recall one of our clients, who lived in Hawaii, who was able to visit her local stores and choose the finishes she liked, and we would send pictures back and forth. This new process has been very popular, as it allows the client to be a part of the team.
Another aspect that benefits our clients who live out of the area is utilizing our local knowledge in hiring architects, interior designers, and even offering consultation on who to hire if I am not the builder. Many times I’ve been hired based on referrals, primarily due to a level of trust that exists within our region’s construction industry.
Finally, here at MMD Construction, we can handle all the local permitting required to ensure the project moves ahead smoothly. We’re familiar with the processes, especially in the more challenging areas permit-wise. These include Coronado, La Jolla, Rancho Santa Fe, Del Mar, Santa Luz, Fairbanks Ranch, The Covenant, Solana Beach, Encinitas, and Carlsbad. We can pool the permits together at the respective city, and also deal with any HOA requirements. It’s really about taking the hassle out of the process for our client and creating an enjoyable experience.
