Tony Robbins is an author, entrepreneur, philanthropist and life coach – and he’s someone who has impacted my life in a big way. I’ve attended his several of his expos in the past, and recently attended his real estate expo in Los Angeles (we’re pictured here together following the event).

Robbins taught me that life is about personal power and the words that you use towards other people make a huge difference in the way the world reacts to you. I’ve learned that to be a better leader, improving my communication skills with clients allows me to better understand them. And as a contractor, this is crucial.

Another thing Robbins taught me was to observe my career from a different aspect – viewing it from the client’s point of view. It’s not about me. This approach helps me better understand people, what their needs are, being able to visualize and create a better partnership with the entire project.

While I only got to meet Tony for a few seconds, I told him that my family and I owe him for what he’s done – he’s changed my life! I was in the front row during the expo, and learned that life is about personal power. I really attended for my own personal good, to improve on myself, and it’s led to a pretty amazing year.

Tony made me realize I had created patterns for certain things I was doing, and I’ve changed those patterns for the better. He also made me realize I’m worth what I’m charging. He urges business owners to create raving fans – they’re the key to your business, they’re the base, and you should keep your clientele happy. He taught me how to set goals and stick with them; I’ve set some tight goals, and I’ve accomplished them. When you set your mind to it, you can do anything.

He also taught me to work at the highest level and always be honest. Don’t come from a mindset of scarcity; the world is full of abundance.

It’s pretty awesome to think about, really – it’s all about giving and loving people. The more you give and love, the more life gives back to you.
